can i add a CD player to work off these controls.Bought an 01 lincoln ls with just a casette player. has a CD button on dash and steering wheel controls, how?
are you sure there is no CD changer in either the console or trunk? Often they had a 6 pack changer installed else were in the vehicle.Bought an 01 lincoln ls with just a casette player. has a CD button on dash and steering wheel controls, how?
01 lincoln comes with a cd player in the dash not a cassette so some one has taken the old one out and replaced it you should be able to us the controls but only if you buy a cd player that supports controls take it to best buy or your local audio shop they will tell you what can be done in more detail

    Can I replace my car stereo and still have the radio control buttons on the steering wheel work? Hooking it up

    I just baught a new car (97 Pontiac Grand Am GT), and the radio in it doesn't have a cassette player or MP3 cord slot (I want either one of these so that I can play my MP3 player in the car). The steering wheel has radio seek/volume control buttons on it that I think will be very convenient - but the radio currently installed isn't the one I want, so I'd like to replace it. What I want to know is, if I were to buy a new stereo for the car, would it still hookup to the buttons on the steering wheel? Or do the buttons only work with the factory model stereo?

    Answers would be greatly appreciated, thanks.Can I replace my car stereo and still have the radio control buttons on the steering wheel work? Hooking it up
    you'll have to buy an extra module that will make an aftermarket cd player work with the conrols, it will cost you about 100 bucks retail.Can I replace my car stereo and still have the radio control buttons on the steering wheel work? Hooking it up
    It is possible with an external source. google...no better yet, do a yahoo search for soundgate. They are one of the companies that manufacture such a product. Good Luck!
    youccan buy and aftermarket radio and add a steering wheel interface to it look at the interfaces at intergrationsolutions.net
    yep, you will need an adaptor that retains the use of the buttons, but you will also need a head unit thats has steering wheel inputs on it. kenwood makes a few like that and are very nice units for around $150 (not sure on retail price on those)

    you can find all you need to know on page 135 of your owners manual.Can anyone tell me how to activate cruise control in camry 2004 model? I cant find the buttons for activating.
    it's in between steering wheel and wiper contron on the right side of the steering wheel.Can anyone tell me how to activate cruise control in camry 2004 model? I cant find the buttons for activating.
    I own a 2003 Camry and in that this is how I set the cruise. There is a button at the end of a lever on the right side of the steering. Press the button and this gets the cruise on (activated). Once you are driving and ready to cruise. Pull the lever down and this gets your car to start cruising. I suppose it should be the same method for the 2004 Camry as well.

    Why do you press the buttons harder on your tv remote control when you know that the battery has run out?

    HAHAHA!!!

    I do it on the off chance the remote is screwed/ the buttons have perished ( which is worse than the battery running out...

    Basically we are just lazy mofo's!!!

    good question!!!Why do you press the buttons harder on your tv remote control when you know that the battery has run out?
    Well, i would suggest that when we press the buttons harder, we also take other measures to improve remote control signal. IE, when i think the batteries are going flat, my natural inclination is to press the button as hard as i can, point the remote directly at the TV, and lean forward a bit. I would suggest that while pressing the button harder makes no difference, the pointing and leaning do.

    So basically, its the things we don't realise we're doing that makes the difference.Why do you press the buttons harder on your tv remote control when you know that the battery has run out?
    My remote control has 10 buttons that fail, however the ones i need (channel changing, volume control, AV) all function perfectly.

    I don't press the buttons harder when the battery runs out, but the faulty functionality could be a contibuting cause to people doing so.
    Because it will recognise my anger and do what i want!!

    Why do we press harder on the remote control buttons when we know the batteries are getting weak?

    Same for lifts. Why do we keep pressing the buttons when we know that wouldn't make the lift come faster!Why do we press harder on the remote control buttons when we know the batteries are getting weak?
    I know, and when you play video games and press the buttons really hard like it's going to make a difference (my kids do this). Or when you're in the passenger's seat of the car and the driver looks like they're not going to brake in time before hitting another car, so you start pushing your foot through the floorboard like it's going to help. I think it's just a psychological thing, because so many things that we do will respond better and faster if we push harder (like a door that's stuck, or a tight lid on a jar).Why do we press harder on the remote control buttons when we know the batteries are getting weak?
    It's a natural response to human frustrations I suppose. And that's the only think you can do at that point in time if you already run out of batteries at home
    humans think that pressure is the answer to everything and are very impatient
    impatience, laziness and denial. Didn't you know that if you press the elevator/lift button, it will really make it come faster? NOT%26gt; people are superstitious and think , it isn't a user interface problem, but a mechanical one!
    Because we are daft, we suspend our critical thinking when it comes to machinery, electronics and anything else we suppose to be influenced by our actions and to be inhabited by tiny sprites that appreciate our lending them a hand.
    to lazy to get up and change the channel
    Too lazy to get new ones
    lol thats so funny and true we are lazy and another question in relation to that one, why will you search for a lost remote control instead of just going up to the tv to change the channel?
    I think it is just a habit%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;that's all i can think of!! But i do it!! ha!!
    Because humans want things now and don't want to wait and because we are too lazy to go over to the TV and turn it on or take the stairs
    For the same reason you extend your arm closer to the TV, when you know the batteries are getting weaker.....

  • Kenmore HE3 Washer control buttons and cycles only partially responding?

    I'm only able to use the Delicate, Whitest Whites, and Heavy Duty cycles and none of the modifiers work (the buttons don't respond with the modifiers). In order for me to use the Heavy Duty cycle I have to press Normal/Casual and in order to use Whitest Whites I have to press Ultra Handwash while with Delicate it works with pressing Delicate. If I press Heavy Duty or Whitest Whites it comes up with a ridiculous 11 Minutes on the screen. In none of the modes will the Modifier buttons (Water Temp %26amp; Spin Speed) respond - the setting is fixed. The End of Cycle buttons respond, while the Options buttons only respond when pressing several at the same time but the LEDs don't light up. I tried unsuccessfully to run the diagnostics by using the following sequence of button presses: DRAIN/SPIN button, SPIN SPEED to NO SPIN, hit PREWASH 4 times within 5 seconds. However it's impossible to do since I'm unable to change the Spin Speed setting. The DRAIN/SPIN and RINSE/SPIN buttons respond.Kenmore HE3 Washer control buttons and cycles only partially responding?

    The iTunes control buttons on my MacBook are a little messed up!?

    So when I first got the laptop, I could just press F7 to skip back a song, or F19 to skip forward. But when I was fiddling with the system preferences, I think I accidentally hit something - now I have to press the Function (Fn) button down the bottom left and those buttons at the same time to get them to do what they're meant to do by themselves.

    Music control buttons on front of Dell Inspiron 9300?

    The front of my laptop has buttons to mute, increase/decrease volume, as well as pause/play/stop and skip forward or back while I'm playing music or movies. I am annoyed by the fact that the pause/play/stop/forward/back buttons only seem to work with Windows Media Player. Is there a way I can configure them to work with iTunes or Winamp or some other program I like better? Oh, and what is this set of buttons called?Music control buttons on front of Dell Inspiron 9300?
    these buttons are called Media Buttons.

    each player has its own shortcuts for play, stop, forward, back etc. so the standard installation is made for the Windows Media Player.

    maybe there is a configuration utility in Control Panel where you can setup different sets of shortcuts for these media buttons.

    for example the shortcuts for Winamp are showed if you right click on the frame and then click on Nullsoft Winamp in the popup window.Music control buttons on front of Dell Inspiron 9300?

    How do you make custom controls and buttons in Visual Basic 2008?

    Some programs seems to have their own controls and buttons other than the standard button you use in VB 2008. For example, a program might have a circular shiny blue button instead of a rectangular standard button.

    Can you make custom buttons in VB 2008? Or can you do that only in another programming language? Also, can you add icons to the buttons too?How do you make custom controls and buttons in Visual Basic 2008?
    I think you can override the design and paint methodologies of a control.. (talking about Windows Forms) but since you're using VB 9 then you might consider using WPF in creating controls with custom effects.How do you make custom controls and buttons in Visual Basic 2008?
    There is a convenient library of ';set(Icontypehere)Icon(ImageIcon i) functions in Java Swing.

    You may have something similar in Visual Basic. Though if you want to make programs that will eventually be able to run as a .exe file on other people's computers, I suggest you switch to java: because Basic is exactly that, basic.

    Feel free to email me if you don't already know where to get set up.
    maybe u can try control class (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/鈥?/a> ) (but it will be super complex)

    for a custom button...i would use a PictureBox with click,MouseHover,MouseLeave events instead

    Well the remote to the TV downstairs doesn't have that problem usually the batteries last centuries.. BUT it does however not respond to the button pressing AT ALL.. like you press the button you you have to wait SECONDS.. yes SECONDS for it to do anything.. you may be thinking.. ';hmm seconds isn't that bad..'; but nooo those seconds mount up the more you press the button, like say if I wanted to change the channel up 4 times or something I have to wait all the seconds that it takes to change once which feels like for ever so I'm like omg *presses it loads more* then it changes then after loads of time later it changes all the times I pressed it trying to get it to respond causing my relaxation levels to drop quite a lot.. maybe I will make a graph to further explain my scientific findings into delayed channel changing and the effects of a human..

    Because how am I supposed to actually know that the batteries are dead? I can guess they are, but that's it. My remotes are often unresponsive, and I regularly have to change position, press harder or press a bunch of time for them to work.
    *sigh* I do it out of frustration, and because I'm so lazy I refuse to believe the batteries are actually dead until I try it a few more times. Then I finally give up and have to go find some new ones. =P

    lolHave you ever pressed the remote control buttons harder when the batteries went low!?
    Yes, punched them harder as well multiple times, like that was going to to do any good.Have you ever pressed the remote control buttons harder when the batteries went low!?
    Sure have. I even shake the remote hoping it will work just long enough to change the channel.
    no, i take out the cover and roll the batteries so it can work again
    I have to hit the spot where the batteries are to make the god damn remote to work.
    Yes - and if you hold your tongue just right, it works! Well, sometimes, anyway.
    Yes! And Got closer to the Equipment hoping that distance might make it work!!!!!!
    Funny, this happened to me last night. I was just scrolling through the channels and it just froze on me. I tried beating the back of the remote and wouldn't work. Made me upset, because I was comfortable and I had to get up to change the batteries.
    hahahaha yes(now I feel stupid lol)
    yes
    Yes and I fall asleep on mine all the time. Wake up too a dead remote.
    yes, but it probably didn't help.
    its either that or i start hitting d remote real hard
    yeah, i always do that, i know it doesn't work, but i guess i'm just too lazy to go get the batteries from the smoke alarm to put in the remote. j/k-safety first folks.
    yes and even pointed closer to the TV. Do you ever push the elevator button even though someone has pushed it already?
    I do that all the time knowing it wont work by pressing the buttons hard.
    Yes...and I slap the remote on my hand, and cuss.

    How dare it NOT work???
    guilty.
    yes or taken the back off and move the batteries around to give them a bit more life.
    YES. I'VE ALSO SMACKED THE BACK OF THE REMOTE WHERE THE BATTERIES RE KEPT.
    I do that all the time!!!
    Yeah, like talking louder to people who don't know the language.
    Always!

    I roll the batteries around their terminals it seems to get a bit more life out of them.
    great question, its because they are too lazy to get up and change them
    cause they are stressed.
    In my family, we don't realize that it is the batteries. We have had a couple remotes go bad on us and had to buy new ones. Before we start jumping up and down, we test the batteries now.

  • Poll: Do you press harder on the remote control buttons?

    Even though you KNOW the batteries are dead?Poll: Do you press harder on the remote control buttons?
    Well, it does seem to help get that extra juice outa the batteries.Poll: Do you press harder on the remote control buttons?
    Yes, everytime.
    Sadly, yes
    yep
    No, because I know it's a digital signal... It's either ON or OFF. not anywhere between, no pressure sensitivity, etc. I'm just not a bloke like a lot of people.
    lol.

    not really, at times maybe.

    good one.
    Ha ha ha ha yeah...
    Yes, because you have to! duh.

    My television prompts me that it's time to change the batteries. The TV has a little pop-up that says, 'REMOTE BATTERIES LOW' .. and that's right about the time I start pressing harder on the remote.
    lol, yea, hoping my lazy *** won't have to get up
    haha yes! i totally do that! =)
    yep, i think everyone does, but doesnt say it... sadly, of course i do = )
    All the time. I also use my mind powers to give the batteries a little more juice. So far I have been unsuccessful though.
    LOL. I bash the remote on a hard surface. Hoping the batteries have some little more juice to them or something..

    It usually works pretty well after that, though.
    Yes and I bang it on the table.
    lol yes idk why
    lol yeah i always do and it works too.

    Why do we press harder on remote control buttons when we know the battery is dead?

    omg! i don't know! probably the same reason we lean into turn to try to make the car turn faster!Why do we press harder on remote control buttons when we know the battery is dead?
    It's our monkey genes.Why do we press harder on remote control buttons when we know the battery is dead?
    well i think thal it is justa a psycological approach.somtimes we not only press the buttons hard but also bang the remote on another hand.it is just our brain signals that the remote mite have lost connectivity from inside or because of some other reason.or may be it is just the result of our irritation or frustation !!
    Pressing harder on the buttons will squeeze what power is left, out of the batteries.

    OR it could be just laziness.
    Instinct says there is a weak connection, and pressing harder might be a quick fix.
    Anytime anything isn't working your first instinct is to always try harder. It's just human nature, we're animals at our core.
    That's what lazy ppl do
    cuz we are so pissed off that we get our anger out. or, we are part of a group born with little brain function and we just don't understand. aren't humans stupid somtimes? i know i have my moments.

    I have a Macbook, and I've had it for 7 months, but suddenly the buttons that control Itunes wont work.?

    The buttons that control my iTunes (the %26lt;%26lt;, play, and %26gt;%26gt; buttons) wont work. It isn't the function problem either, because they wont work even if a press fn and press them. All my other buttons work but only those dont. and another problem I have is that whenever I go onto my dashboard, this message pops up going the application dashboard client quit unexpectedly etc. anyone help?I have a Macbook, and I've had it for 7 months, but suddenly the buttons that control Itunes wont work.?
    Apple like to keep and deal with problems regarding their hardware/software to themselves. You can't even buy parts for a Mac and put them in yourself. May I suggest you ring apple and explain to them your problem and they will guide you through fixing the problem. If they can't fix the problem over the phone or if it is hardware related, you will probably be told to take your Macbook into your nearest apple dealer. All of this will be covered by the Macbook warranty, providing you are able to tell them the serial number of it.I have a Macbook, and I've had it for 7 months, but suddenly the buttons that control Itunes wont work.?

    I have an ipod touch 2g and i just did all the work to get the craked/modded version of the 3gS voice control app on my ipod but the only way i can see to open it is threw double tapping the home button? does anybody have more info? maybe even about apple releasing the damn voice control for all us older ipod/iphone users in a newer software update? damn cheap apple:(Is it possible to use the button on the ipod touch head phones to activate voice control?
    well actually.. the new 3.1. version should have voice control on. You coulda spent $5 to have it done and installed. but now that you jailbroke it, your pretty much pinched.

    btw, you know that jailbreaking voids the warranty?

    maybe you can check with your Jailbreak buddies to see what they did..lol

    In ASP.net the GirdView Control causes my page to submit twice with one click on any row command button, Why?

    In ASP.net the GirdView Control causes my page to submit twice with one click on any row command button, Why? and how can i fix it

    i'm using a Grid View with a Bound Command field

    %26amp; i have a code that handles the RowCommand event of the GridView

    the problem is during testing the code works fine, but sometims ';NOT ALWAYS'; all of the page events get excuted twice including the RowCommand event, in other words it is same as if the exact page was submitted twice

    this all happens when i click on the command field of the GridView ';SOME TIMES';

    dont tell me to use the Page.isPostBack because the page i'm constructing wroks as a post back page .. not to mention that the exact page is submitted twice for one actual submit

    if there is anyone with a clue, i would appreciate it !!In ASP.net the GirdView Control causes my page to submit twice with one click on any row command button, Why?
    Please post your markup for the GridView and the code for your Page_Load and GridView's RowCommand event handler.

    I've seen similar things in the past, but it's almost impossible to diagnose the problem without code.

    ---

    Although I don't like the GridView's framework for commands, I think it is superior to the original DataGrid. Here's what I usually do:

    (inside the %26lt;Columns%26gt; of the GridView)

    %26lt;asp:TemplateField%26gt;

    %26lt;ItemTemplate%26gt;

    %26lt;asp:ImageButton runat=';server'; ImageUrl=';~/images/delete.gif'; CommandArgument='%26lt;%# Eval(';Identifier';) %%26gt;' OnCommand =';DeleteEmployee_Command'; /%26gt;

    %26lt;/ItemTemplate%26gt;

    %26lt;/asp:TemplateField%26gt;

    (in the codebehind)

    protected void DeleteEmployee_Command (Object sender, CommandEventArgs e)

    {

    // e.CommandArgument holds the identifier (primary key) of the record i want to delete

    }In ASP.net the GirdView Control causes my page to submit twice with one click on any row command button, Why?
    You do not need to specify the OnRowCommand if you have the autoEventWireUp = true.

    Who deserves a tip? Restaurant servers? Starbucks button pushers? Mailmen/women? Or is tipping out of control?

    Come on - tip jars at a hot dog stand? Starbucks? Even at a 7-11? Are people just getting greedy, or do they deserve a tip for doing their job?

    Wait-staff - I think tips should be based on service, not %age. Great service, great tip. Lousy service, lousy tip. I start at 20% and usually peak at 30%. I'll go as low as a buck for really bad service. I once left 2 cents and a note that they were in the wrong business. I then complained to the manager.

    Mailman? Why? He's making $45,000 a year and has fantastic benefits!

    What's next? Tollway booth worker tips?Who deserves a tip? Restaurant servers? Starbucks button pushers? Mailmen/women? Or is tipping out of control?
    I tip if I know the person is making less than minimum wage and they do a good job. Tip jars? No way. Mailman? Nope, not him/her either. I'm a good tipper in the proper places, but I'm not going to tip someone that is already making well above minimum wage. People are greedy and most don't have any idea what real work is anyway.......Who deserves a tip? Restaurant servers? Starbucks button pushers? Mailmen/women? Or is tipping out of control?
    Since wait-staff in restaurants depend upon tips for the major portion of their income (they are generally paid minimum wage), I do tip them depending upon service. For the best service I will give 20%, for lesser quality service I will give 10% or 15%.

    I generally don't tip baristas, and certainly not the mail delivery people.
    It all depends but, here in New Mexico and in various other states, wait-staff receive an hourly wage of $2.13. So yes, I tip them well. The owners are supposed to make up the difference if their combined hourly wage and tips do not equal minimum wage but that rarely happens.

    I don't tip the mailman, maybe a Christmas card?
    I think people do whatever they think they can get away with.

    And this is why you are getting the tip jars. Everyone thinks they deserve something extra and aren't shy to say it either.
    waitress depend on there tips so i tip em ever since i was little and no mail peopple don't need tipsplus what people ake in a year what about stuff that happen during

  • How to control Progress Bar in Visual Basic 2008 when a user clicks Button 1 or Button 2?

    I have just gotten into software development and I was wondering I have just installed Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition and started building my first Windows Form Application. Here is where I am stuck, when a user clicks button 1 I want them to see a marquee progress bar and see text or an image that says Enabled, but not stop or disappear until they click button 2 , also when a user clicks button 1 I want to run a task in the background while the user sees the marquee progress bar and image/text and the task to end when the person clicks button 2. Hopefully I am not speaking gibberish and you people understand what I am saying because like I said, I extremely new at this but slowly, very slowly, trying to understand.How to control Progress Bar in Visual Basic 2008 when a user clicks Button 1 or Button 2?
    instead of progress bar use slider with min and max value when slider reaches max value reset it to min value.

    How to control Progress Bar in Visual Basic 2008 when a user clicks Button 1 or Button 2?
    Try this:

    Add a label, a timer and 2 buttons.

    Size your form to 300 by 300.

    Cut and paste this into the code pane.

    Play around with the ';x'; value and the timer interval.

    Public Class Form1

    Dim x, y As Long

    Private Sub Timer1_Tick(ByVal Sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Handles Timer1.Tick

    x = x - 5

    Label1.Location = New Point(x, y)

    If x %26lt; -20 Then x = 300

    End Sub

    Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click

    x = 350

    y = 10

    Button1.Text = ';Start';

    Timer1.Enabled = True

    End Sub

    Private Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click

    Button2.Text = ';Stop';

    Timer1.Enabled = False

    End Sub

    End Class

    The power button on the tv is broken and the power button the controls is gone what do i do?

    Two things: Often, the physical switch in the TV still works. Put your finger in and shove the little nubby button to turn it on. The other suggestion is to just a use the remote. If you don't have one, get a universal remote.

    How can you remove something in the control panel add/remove when there is no remove button to click on?

    I have Internet Explorer 7 on my computer and want to remove it to load a different version and when I go into the Control Panel then to Add/Remove Programs and highlight the IE7 that I want to remove, there is no button ';Remove'; to click on. How do I remove the IE7 in this case?How can you remove something in the control panel add/remove when there is no remove button to click on?
    Part-answer

    It depends if you want to use IE8 instead.

    If so, you go MS home page for IE8 and download it. It will auto-recognise you are running IE7, and overwrite it.

    **Note there will be some changes so you may need to make odd adjustments afterwards**

    Why do we push the buttons harder on the remote control when we know the batteries are dying? ?

    Subconsciously, we know that each time a remote button is pushed, the battery's life is shortened. But since the darn remote seems to work every time, we may think that the button is not making full contact with whatever it is under it so we compensate by a harder push. Also, by pushing it a little harder and longer, maybe, just maybe we can coax a little more juice out of them to send the signal out this time, and hopefully, one or possibly more times after that. I think this has to do with 'getting your money's worth'.Why do we push the buttons harder on the remote control when we know the batteries are dying? ?
    The same reason we push elevator buttons when THEY are already lit up; just because.Why do we push the buttons harder on the remote control when we know the batteries are dying? ?
    Because by pressing the buttons harder you recharge the remote control batteries. Its all in the instructions manual.
    Because We think if we push harder, It will kick in and Work
    Because we're stupid.

    It's the same with your question, we keep pressing the buttons for the hope that maybe it's not the battery but the remote instead!

    Either that or you're just too lazy to replace new batteries, lol.
    because we think it will work
    For the same reason we sweep the same piece of lint over and over with the sweeper thinking it will come up...must be some level of denial...

    I tried to deactivate messenger without success.Now i have a messenger controls button on my toolbar, but i can't access it.How do I activate messenger (parental)controls from the messenger button on my toolbar?
    I think you need to use the SBC Yahoo! software to manage parental controls in Messneger.

    The best way to do parental controls on your computer is use the Windows user accounts control panel to create a limited use account for your kids, and restrict them from using certain programs, like Messenger.

    yes you can ,,i own a repair shop,,and have done this a few times,,just go to the nearest junk yard,,and see if they have a good used one in,,most of the time they do,,and there not real expensive either,,maybe 25 bucks,,or less,,where i live they usually run about that,,you can either replace the buttons or the whole thing,,but it is an easy fix,,take your time,,you,ll get if repaired,,hope this help,s
    In some areas they have u-pull junkyards where you take the parts off teh car yourself. If not, you can go to a regular junkyard and find the parts. You also could order them new from a dealership, but you will pay a hefty price.

    website..........My PS2 control has an X problem. It's not that it's stuck, just the button is not respnding??
    i have this problem too, it is stuck, but not visibly. the computer chip in the controller says it is though. if you are only using it to navigate menus, unplug it, and plug it back in every time you push X, if your playing a game that requires X to shoot or something, than get a new controller.

    Why is it that when the batteries in your remote control wear out you just push the buttons harder?

    It's been proven to work.

    I also tap the remote against the heel of my hand...it gives the batteries a little ';boost';.Why is it that when the batteries in your remote control wear out you just push the buttons harder?
    In the switch contact, there is some form of resistance

    When your battery is low, you would need to reduce all possible resistance to allow the current to flow through.

    Then again, I think its psychological, just like how I use to hit my old TV when it acts up... it works though... Why is it that when the batteries in your remote control wear out you just push the buttons harder?
    Because we're not sure if it is the batteries or the remote control. I think its somewhat automated though.

    Good question.
    Because you want to change the channel or adjust the volume where you鈥檙e at, you don't really feel like walking to the TV.
    Its wishful thinking... like how we push elevator button several times like that is supposed to make it come down faster. ;)
    People are stupid...they have no clue how a remote control works...they think they can treat it like a person and bully it into submission.
    Because you just like to push the buttons anyway...you never know what will happen...lmao!

    :)
    No, I slap it a few times.

    In VB.NET, how can I restrict the characters of a text box to numbers and control buttons only?

    In VB.NET, how can I restrict the characters of a text box to numbers and control buttons (i.e Delete, backspace...) only?In VB.NET, how can I restrict the characters of a text box to numbers and control buttons only?
    Use this event handler:

    Private Sub TextBox1_KeyPress(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyPressEventArgs) Handles TextBox1.KeyPress

    Dim c As Char

    c = e.KeyChar

    If Not (Char.IsDigit(c) Or Char.IsControl(c)) Then

    e.Handled = True

    End If

    End SubIn VB.NET, how can I restrict the characters of a text box to numbers and control buttons only?
    you need to use the masked text box

    sorry i don't know what you should do for the other part
    Look into regular expressions. It will help you restrict whatever you want.
    Solution 1:

    ========

    Use a MaskedTextBox and set the ';mask'; property to ';9999999';

    Try it and check if it behaves like you want (personally I don't like it)

    Solution 2

    =======

    Or you could use an ordinary ';TextBox'; with the following handler to trap the TextChanged event and detect any non digit character

    Dim oldText As String

    Private Sub TextBox1_TextChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles TextBox1.TextChanged

    Dim digitFound As Boolean

    Dim textLength As Int16

    Dim i As Int16

    digitFound = True

    textLength = TextBox1.Text.Length

    i = 0

    While (digitFound = True And i %26lt; textLength)

    digitFound = Char.IsDigit(TextBox1.Text, i)

    i = i + 1

    End While

    If digitFound = False Then

    Dim caretPosition As Int16

    caretPosition = TextBox1.SelectionStart

    TextBox1.Text = oldText

    TextBox1.SelectionStart = caretPosition - 1

    Else

    oldText = TextBox1.Text

    End If

    b/c we dread the fact of having to go out and buy those high *** batteries or a new remote control if those new batteries don't work.

    there might just be one more click left in the remote if i can inflict enough pain on it!!
    We hope that will make it work.
    Maybe to get that extra tiniest bit of juice of them. Down to the last drop lol. Or maybe we do it bec we are angry that it isn't working and we want to push the button all the way through the remote lol.
    Because we think it's just a short - surely that battery couldn't be dead yet. Did you ever take them out and put them back in to see if that would make them work? Same concept.

    I still don't know what you're talking about .......... is it the problem with the ';INTERNET BROWSER TOOLBAR'; or ';YAHOO TOOLBAR';. Anyway if it's the problem of YAHOO TOOLBAR BUTTONS then at first, please SHUT DOWN and TURN ON your PC. Then start your internet browser and see if it's OK. If it still shows the same problem, try this!

    Re-installing your YAHOO TOOLBARS:

    Why do you press harder on the buttons of a remote control when ...?

    Why do you press harder on the buttons of a remote control

    when you know the batteries are dead?Why do you press harder on the buttons of a remote control when ...?
    i don't know 2pts thanksWhy do you press harder on the buttons of a remote control when ...?
    because psychologically we think that if we press hardly maybe the remote would magically work.

    well idk its just psychology. hahaha i definitely know where you're coming from :)

    Do you (or your spouse) know what those control buttons on the TV are if the remote breaks? hmmm?

    just.... being ....sarcastic. lolDo you (or your spouse) know what those control buttons on the TV are if the remote breaks? hmmm?
    Luckily the digital cable remote can handle the minor things the other, now less used, TV remote did. Such as volume, and switching the input.Do you (or your spouse) know what those control buttons on the TV are if the remote breaks? hmmm?
    Sure, what do you think we did before the remote control, you get you *ss up and change the channel.
    .....i'd be so lost.....

    When the batteries in a remote control are going flat, why do we push the buttons harder?

    Because we don't want to admit that the batteries are going flat when we know that we haven't got any new ones in the house, It's a defensive mechanism against having to get up off the couch and make an effort.....When the batteries in a remote control are going flat, why do we push the buttons harder?
    i think it's cause you somehow believe that if you push the button harder you get a better contact with the circuit underneath and so get more of whats left of the power in the battery. Kind of the same theory that some people have about needing to shout to get people to hear them when using the phone :)When the batteries in a remote control are going flat, why do we push the buttons harder?
    Because deep down we know that the batteries are not really flat - their just being bloody awkward. And if you push them really really hard you'll nudge the little buggers back into action.

    Works for me!
    to get the last bit of power out of it, like squeezing tooth paste.
    Because we are hoping that its not the batteries and its just the remote ... i mean who really wants to go hunting for batteries in the middle of your favorite programme or footie match?!...
    Because its human nature to push, hit, squash, slap, thump, pull, kick and scratch when things don't work.

    We're so busy with life that we expect so much from materialistic things that we have forgotten the simple stuff like changing the batteries, the nappy or switching of the gas, closing the window, locking the car yada yada yada .. . and when simplicity prevails you feel like a right lemon . . .
    cos we're so friggin tight we dont want to spend money on batteries
    so the extra electrical charge cased by our growing anger at having to find new batteries on actually get up to change the channel we think will help.
    We think it's like driving, where pushing down the gas more will give it a boost of power.
    because by holding the button down the small charge in the battery will eventually build up in the remote control and then the signal will be sent,

    the reason for rubbing batteries between your hands is that it creates heat which causes any left over charge to build up

    this will work for a while the batteries will be even flatter
    it's just one of those crazy things ppl do but i have to admit it i do it
    Just because it's never worked before, doesn't mean it won't work this time!! =P
    have no idea. Although I am guilty of that and taking them out and rubbing them! like that will work!lol
    and move closer to the tv!!
    Stupidity !!! :- ((
    Because sometimes it works.
    because something in our stupid brains tell s us that if we push it that little bit harder we will manage to get the last dregs of power out of them and it usually works if you forcefully point it toward the tv and push hard.
    trying to pump up the batteries?
    ......I don't because I am not lazy. I simply get up, go to the shop, purchase some new ones and replace the dead ones. This avoids damaging the remote control and having to buy a new one. Oh and then I recharge the dead ones.
    desperation
    Because you're daft! ;-)

    Take the batteries out, shake them a bit and try again. If that doesn't work, replace them.
    We push the buttons harder because we instinctively think the buttons are stiff.

    Although thats not the worst thing, when the batteries are going flat on my mums remote, she bangs the remote of the table, floor or her hand, and in fairness it always works.
    Good question!!! We all do it, spose it makes us think we will get more life out of the batteries. Even more stranger, why do we take batteries out and change them round, we think this make them last longer as well!!!!!!!!!!! HA
    The same reason we clout the tv set when it goes on the blink or kick the car when it breaks down... inside our minds we like to personify things; those inanimate objects we interact with on a daily basis take on a little personality to us, so we end up swearing at them and bashing them about in the vain hope it'll force them to function when they go on the blink. We're trying to goad them into working again as we might another living creature.

    One of these days my computer is going to swear back at me, though, and that really will show we've taken this technology lark too far...
    Sometimes extra pressure will help make a better contact. Taking the cover off the batteries and turning them round by rolling them with your finger will improve the contact, as will taking the batteries out and rubbing the ends on cloth and replacing them.
    I guess it's a result of frustration - like repeated pressing of a lift button. Although it doesn't make us any happier! Another possible explanation is that we're stupid!
    Because most people these days cant work their electronics without a remote, even though you can, so cant deal with the thought of being without. I have seen someone hunt for 25 minutes for new batteries for a remote, miss half the program they wanted to watch, all rather than push the little button on the TV by hand.
    Only men do that, don't they?;-)
    It makes us feel better. I also hit it on the table. That seems to work too--at least it makes ME feel better.
    because we are stupid
    We are lazy. We have a remote controll for the TV when the batteries go flat we're too lazy to change them. Therefore I propose my new invention; I will create a remote control battery replacer that doesn't need batteries itself. Solar powered. Patent pending. ;)

    Do u press harder on the remote control buttons when the batteries start to run out??

    why??Do u press harder on the remote control buttons when the batteries start to run out??
    Yeah and it works !

    I also tilt when playing PlaystationDo u press harder on the remote control buttons when the batteries start to run out??
    My brother also tilts when he's playing on the play station. He also sticks his tongue out and has his mouth open.... he looks sooo funny!! =)

    are you trying to press out the last few energy juices? Yes I do that too!
    good question...

    no, actually I shake the remote to startle the batteries. LOL
    Yes, it is true. Just human nature, I guess!
    I've caught myself doing that! It's the DF (dumb factor), those genes haven't been weeded out of the pool yet!

    I've also raised my voice when my kid didn't understand my explanation of math...like she didn't HEAR me (eyes roll)!

    Just dumb! We slip.
    of course i do, then bang it a few times too
    Yes and I also hold it closer to the tv screen thinking that will help, anything to avoid going out and buying new batteries!!!
    I hit it on the couch a few times usually works
    Yes, and I look down the barrel of a gun to see what happened to the bullets.
    yup, cause I'm to cheap to buy new ones.
    Yes, I do.. anger makes me do it
    god help me, I do.

    and I have no idea why.

    I also press the elevator button harder to make the elevator come faster.
    I do, and I keep saying '; What the?'; as I'm pushing harder and harder, like the thought of the batteries beening dead is not an option to me!!!
    lol yes!
    If anyone said no, they are a liar. lol
    smack it on the coffeetable
    yes.i dont know.lol
    It is just weird how everyone does that. But I would have to say that I have been guilty of that myself.
    yes, for some reason i think it might work, stupid ha? lol good question
    yes, because of the low energy source you need to push a little harder to get it going
    YES I do!!!.. I'm hoping that it'll work!!! But, it never does..=(.

  • Adobe Flash: how do you control things in a flash movie with keyboard buttons?

    I have reasonable knowledge of Macromedia/Adobe Flash, but I just can't understand how to add keyboard commands! By this, I mean to be able to have the user press a key on the keyboard and then have something happen such as to have a movie clip play.

    Is there something like

    ';some key'; OnPress = function (); ?

    And then also is there a way to sense when the key is released?Adobe Flash: how do you control things in a flash movie with keyboard buttons?
    yeah you need some action script. when i am creating flash i use www.flashkit.com

    here you can get plenty of full free flash files. if you search on this site and find a fla that is close to what you are looking for you can just use that action script, copy and paste.

    Steering wheel audio control buttons?

    hi everyone, i just bought a chevrolet impala LS 2001. and it got some buttons on the steering wheel for audio control and cruise control .. after i bought it (used of course) i noticed that the audio control aren't working.. then i when i pressed hard on it.. it worked .. but not all the time.. i thought it would be just some dust i tried to clean it with some pressurised air.. it worked but with confusion.. when i want to raise the volume it changes the channel. and vice versa.. so anyway after some time the whole audio control buttons on the steering wheel stopped working.... however the cruise control still working fine without any problems.. what might be the problem??? and where should i fix it!!?? and how much should i expect to spend on fixing that!?? any advice will be great!

    thanksSteering wheel audio control buttons?
    Agree with above....................check with local mechanic, could be a few fuse problems r wires not connected or connected wrong..Getting into the wiring can runs some major bucks, but a reliable mechanic with the right tools can find the spot. Dealers tend to be higher so look locally for mechinic.Steering wheel audio control buttons?
    is the reciever (cd player) stock?

    if yes, your problem is probably in the switches on the steering wheel. replacing those are not complicated, but proably requires removing the air bag.

    try this: go to an impala forum and ask there. there may be a simpler solution. wires dont just come disconected...

    if that is the problem, and you do the work yourself, i would assume no more than $100 for the switches. if you do decide to do the work yourself, use caution with the air bag.... is it even worth the risk????

    Is there any easy way to connect button in my BMW and Remote controlled Garage door?

    ThanksIs there any easy way to connect button in my BMW and Remote controlled Garage door?
    If you have the built-in Homelink system you can find programming instructions on the Homelink website:

    http://www.homelink.com/programming/prog鈥?/a>

    Just select your vehicle and garage door opener model.Is there any easy way to connect button in my BMW and Remote controlled Garage door?
    I don't know what ';switch'; you are referring to, but the following will give some ideas of what can be done.

    Remote controlled garage door openers operate on a short range ( low power) radio frequency. So that all of the garage doors in your transmitting range don't operate when someone opens their door, they have many different frequencies available. The frequency of your unit is printed on the receiver unit, which is normally by the motor assembly that opens the door.

    The only way to have a button in your car operate the door is to have it connected to a transmitter operating on the same frequency as your door. You could open your transmitter unit (or buy a spare with the same frequency.) and connect the wires that go to the opener button to a button on your dash. (or wherever) Then hide the transmitter behind the dash, or wherever you wish. That way it would appear that you had no hand held remote opener in your car, but had a built in opening system.

    You would need to use a ';momentary on'; switch. That is one that is only activated while you are touching it. (works just like the button on the hand held unit) That type of switch is available in many styles, so it would be a matter of finding one that matched your car's switches.

    Be advised that the more metal blocking the signal (dash, firewall, hood, etc.) the shorter the range. Also put the remote unit in a hidden, but accessible spot in case you need to change batteries. The option here is to find out what operating voltage the remote unit uses (usually says on the case, or in the remote's documentation, or you can bring the remote to Radio Shack and they can look at the battery arrangement and tell you the voltage. IE: 2 batteries in series = 3 volts, 4 in series = 6, vs any number in parallel =1.5) and hard wire it to your fuse block through a voltage reducer. (A voltage reducer can be found at your local Radio Shack to convert 12v as used in the car's electrical system to 1.5, 3, 4.5, 6, 7.5, 9, or 10.5 volts as needed. Not needed if the remote is 12 volts.) You would remove the batteries and connect the wires from the voltage reducer to the + and - connections where the batteries connected to the remote unit.

    All of this is fairly simple electronics, but not for you to attempt if you are one of the people who think that electricity is ';magic';.
    Most modern garage door openers come with one or two remote controls, The double door Garage Door Opener usually has a one half horsepower motor to lift the large double doors. You only have to set your personal code into the opener to match the same code you will want to use in the remote controls. These codes can be easily changed just in case some neighbor is using the same code on his garage door. You used to be able to get a universal garage door remote control unit from a place like SEARS.
    My 325 ci has three buttons on the left side of the rear view mirror that can be programmed (learn) to immitate the signal from a garage door opener and other low power RF devices.

    It could be a programmable remote, in that you can program a code for your other devices. It might not have a s big a code library as a universal remote.

    It could be built for only that line of TVs and video accessories, in hopes you would buy theirs. I have an RCA remote like that, which works both a VCR and TV I have.Why are there a million buttons i cant use on my remote control?
    You can program that one remote to control other things. Don't ask me how though, I had someone do that for me.

    You have to type in codes and crap.

    Are there any PC racing games out there where speed is controlled by how fast you click a button?

    I remember the old Atari games where you controlled how fast your player/racer moved by moving the joystick back and forth, and the faster you did it, the faster your player/racer moved. Are there any games like that out there today that I can download?Are there any PC racing games out there where speed is controlled by how fast you click a button?
    I don't think there are any games like that anymore. But if your racing on your PC and you have the $ , you can buy a racing steering wheel with a shifter and gas pedal. This actually makes game feel more realistic. Games like Need For Speed,Flatout 2, Auto Assault Online, NHRA, Nascar ect. there are tons of them. If you mean games like the old Olympics or Track and Field , where you move controller back and forth or mash on a couple buttons to get player to run, I don't where you can get those anymore. But I have done a search and found a couple classic game download sites. So you might want to do a search for classic games. Technically when you say racing you would most likely mean a car or truck. If your making a player run this way its probably listed under sports. My favorite Atari game was Centipede and I found that on Atari classics, which I bought at Staples for 5$. You could probably find it at Target or most anywhere. But if you want new games check out ebgames.com and find the category you want. I think those games make you tired after awhile from so much button mashing and were designed to wear out controllers. You remember your buddy with the box full of broken Atari joysticks.

    On your remote control, do you know what half those buttons are for?

    I don't have a clue.On your remote control, do you know what half those buttons are for?
    yes, because i read the owners manualOn your remote control, do you know what half those buttons are for?
    When all else fails...read the instruction booklet, there in all it's colorful glory is a picture of the remote and what each button is supposed to do. I know, the dog ate the instructions, in that case type in the Model Number and Brand name(Google)and see if there is a Instruction Booklet for review on line.
    Yes.

    I also know what the other half do.

    On the other hand, I am sometimes not to sure what I programmed some buttons on my universal to.
    making the little light on top blink, of course!

    Can you guys teach me some basics of using cruise control? What do the buttons stand for?

    There are basically few control

    On /off

    Cruise SET

    Cruise accelerate

    Cruise decelerate

    Sometime cruise accelerate share the same button as decelerate.

    ====

    * So you turn it on.

    * Get up to cruise speed (usually past 40 mph)

    * press cruise set

    * get off the gas and let the computer take control of GAS (not steering)

    * when you want to SLOW down, press the brake and cruise * will reset (or turn off the cruise)

    Now while you are on cruise control (foot off the gas), and you want to make SMALL changes to your speed, you can press the cruise accelerate / decelerate. Usually if you HOLD the button down, it will cont to accelerate / decelerate. But most cars also allow you to press those buttons ONE, TWO, THREE (etc.) to increase / decrease the speed by ONE, TWO, THREE (etc.) mile per hour - approximately.

    Good Luck...Can you guys teach me some basics of using cruise control? What do the buttons stand for?
    'Lover not a fighter' has it pretty right, generally tapping the brakes will disable the cruise control but not turn it off, which is ideal for going through towns, when you've gone through the town and the speed limit reverts to how it was before, you press the 'resume' button, that will bring your car back to the previously set speed before you tapped the brakes. If your cruise has this, it will only work above a certain speed, in the case of my car it's 40kmh/25mphCan you guys teach me some basics of using cruise control? What do the buttons stand for?
    just remember to cancel it as you come into small towns. small town cops love people who forget about cuise controls (especially answering back excusses).

    The input button on my Jumbo Remote Control will not work with my Samsung 19'; TV/VCR. Can anyone help?

    I found the code for my TV/VCR but the input will not work and there is no button on the TV to hit (I lost my actual remote so this is all I have). I tried finding the code for just a TV to see if that was the problem but none of the codes work and after 25 minutes I still could not find the code automatically. I believe it is an Innovage Remote but I am not sure. It's big and black and glows in the dark.The input button on my Jumbo Remote Control will not work with my Samsung 19'; TV/VCR. Can anyone help?
    From what I've read a lot of people are having the same problem. I Googled Innovage Remote and clicked on http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/200鈥?/a> and there is a list of complants that is similar to yours. Have you tried changing the channel from 125 then going up to the input channel normally (Line 1, 2, 3, L or just input) then the tv starts back at channel 1 or 2.... back up to 125? Depending on how many channels you have

    Does anyone know if a 01 pt cruiser has cruise control on it and where can i find the button???

    If you don't have cruise control on yours, you can add it with a Mopar Accessory kit part number 82205444. The kit will look like it was factory installed.

    It's about $225 for the kit, plus the labor if you have them install it for you (figure around $100 to $150 for labor depending on your local labor rates).

    If travelling long distances on a regular basis, it would definitely be worth the money to add it.Does anyone know if a 01 pt cruiser has cruise control on it and where can i find the button???
    it is optional, if you have it it may be on the end of your turn signalDoes anyone know if a 01 pt cruiser has cruise control on it and where can i find the button???
    some did some didnt. if it does it will be on the turn signal
    If this came with the vehicle, the switch is pointing downward at about the ';4 o'clock'; position on the steering wheel. Easily reached moving your right hand a bit so your finger can activate it, coast, or speed up. The part number for the replace OE switch is 4671573AA, which supersedes to 4671573AB and is also the same part number in Chrysler's add on Accessory kit.

  • I have acer laptop.there is a bluetooth button on the device but there is no bluetoothdevice in control panel

    i want to use bluetooth to connect to my mobile why i don't have bluetooth in my control panle? what should i do ?

    how can i active this on my laptop???I have acer laptop.there is a bluetooth button on the device but there is no bluetoothdevice in control panel
    %26lt;geek%26gt;

    When you got your Acer laptop, the Bluetooth drivers should have been installed automatically for you, so that when you press the button to turn Bluetooth on you get text on your screen saying ';Bluetooth enabled';

    To check your Bluetooth that is installed you need to go to: Control Panel -%26gt; System -%26gt; Device Manager

    and it will be in there. You can update the driver for it in there, or you should have a drivers CD that you got with your laptop that you can put in and choose to install Bluetooth drivers.

    Failing that, check the Acer support pages for Bluetooth drivers for your laptop: http://global.acer.com/support/index.htm

    Or contact the support staff as they should fix your problem for free! :o)

    %26lt;/geek%26gt;I have acer laptop.there is a bluetooth button on the device but there is no bluetoothdevice in control panel
    Seems to me that you don't have a bluetooth device on your machine, therefore you will have to buy a bluetooth device and download the driver and the application from the CD that comes with the Bluetooth device. Otherwise you won't be able to use bluetooth connections.

    I recommend to do a google search for Bluetooth USB products and find the one that suits you.

    How do I use my fn keys to control my volume even though I don't have set volume buttons?

    Hi I have a HP nx6110 laptop pc and it has no volume shortcut fn keys. Is there a program or something that will allow me to use the fn keys I have on my keyboard that are just doing nothing.

    Thanks,How do I use my fn keys to control my volume even though I don't have set volume buttons?
    Double click on the Speaker Icon, in the bottom right of your screen, and a window will pop up, set the volume for Playback, Wave/MP3, CD Audio, MIDI, and Line-In as high. Then when you want change the volume regularly, just click once on the speaker icon in the bottom right of your screen.

    Your Function Key (FN) is used in conjunction with ';Hot Keys'; to operate certain settings via the keyboard, usually these Hot Keys are small little illustrations outlined in blue or black, or some colour other then that of the keyboard letters, e.g. a key with a sun illustration will be used for controlling brightness. Depending on your version there are different Hot Keys.

    In control panel->windows firewall->General tab should i click on the ON /OFF button,which is secure?

    by choosing the OFF button what would happen?In control panel-%26gt;windows firewall-%26gt;General tab should i click on the ON /OFF button,which is secure?
    It is more secure to keep the Windows Firewall settings ON. However, you might wish to implement a more efficient and strong firewall such as Norton or McAfee, in which case you should turn the Windows Firewall OFF.In control panel-%26gt;windows firewall-%26gt;General tab should i click on the ON /OFF button,which is secure?
    firewall protects your computer against viruses. turning it off would allow virus from the internet and other sources to infect your pc. however there are better firewall than that of windows.. anyway, i recommend to turn it on
    I just answered a question like this.... Switch it on and leave it on, turning it off defeats its purpose.
    its always safe to turn ON your firewall, it keeps intruders out of your computer
    well, windows firewall protect your pc agaist some minor threads, but i recommend using a better firewall like zone alarm. Choosing off is like you leave a hot blonde chick naked in NY streets.... night time
    Keep it ON.
    Your firewall will be turned off. What will happen? Maybe nothing. But there are many people running robotic programs that look for vunerable computers and your's just may be hit. I don't use firewalls on my computers. I have a linux distro called smoothwall in between my network and the WAN. It is the firewall so I don't have to have it on my computers. Many routers also have this function.
    You are electing to secure your Firewall so that it is not monitoring your network that is all.

    When you want to turn it back on just click on it again. You will be reminded on your BAR that you have the Firewall off.
    choosing Off would be a recipe for disaster.but the windows firewall is not very efficient.you can get a more reliable firewall from the internet like zonealarm.it is a good antispyware.download it from www.zonealarm.com
    The on button would be the most secure. Though, it way vary depending on how you have your firewall settings set up.

    You will see that there are tabs that say ';exceptions';, and ';advanced'; as well. If you select the ';on'; button, the firewall will basically attempt to block any program from accessing the internet and/or a program and/or computer from over the net from accessing your computer. It will give you a prompt that will tell you what is going on and it will have what is recommends selected, but you can change it if you like.

    If you opt. to allow a program on to access the net or have one access your computer, than it may automatically be added to the ';exceptions'; tab. That is if you select the ';always allow'; option from the prompt in the windows firewall.

    You can also manually add programs or computers to the exceptions tab without going through all of that prompt business. Just go to ';exceptions'; and select ';add program';. Than select from the list and give the extent of your exception and there ya go!

    You can opt. to have the firewall to ';off'; but if you download from the net, you may be an easy target for a virus or worste... spyware! So if I were you and enjoyed having decent performance from your machine I would have the firewall on and maybe a few other security measures.

    I hope this helps and if you need more security help, send me an email and I would be more than happy to pass on some knowledge and help.

    Night
    turning your firewall on will prevent viruses from coming into your cmputer. turn it on
    On is secure. But I would recommend extra firewall protection by getting other firewall software.
    You can't trust on net. There is no site which can be termed as safe. Please keep your firewall on always at the time of surfing atleast. Prevention is always better than cure.
