Can you guys teach me some basics of using cruise control? What do the buttons stand for?

There are basically few control

On /off

Cruise SET

Cruise accelerate

Cruise decelerate

Sometime cruise accelerate share the same button as decelerate.

====

* So you turn it on.

* Get up to cruise speed (usually past 40 mph)

* press cruise set

* get off the gas and let the computer take control of GAS (not steering)

* when you want to SLOW down, press the brake and cruise * will reset (or turn off the cruise)

Now while you are on cruise control (foot off the gas), and you want to make SMALL changes to your speed, you can press the cruise accelerate / decelerate. Usually if you HOLD the button down, it will cont to accelerate / decelerate. But most cars also allow you to press those buttons ONE, TWO, THREE (etc.) to increase / decrease the speed by ONE, TWO, THREE (etc.) mile per hour - approximately.

Good Luck...Can you guys teach me some basics of using cruise control? What do the buttons stand for?
'Lover not a fighter' has it pretty right, generally tapping the brakes will disable the cruise control but not turn it off, which is ideal for going through towns, when you've gone through the town and the speed limit reverts to how it was before, you press the 'resume' button, that will bring your car back to the previously set speed before you tapped the brakes. If your cruise has this, it will only work above a certain speed, in the case of my car it's 40kmh/25mphCan you guys teach me some basics of using cruise control? What do the buttons stand for?
just remember to cancel it as you come into small towns. small town cops love people who forget about cuise controls (especially answering back excusses).
